XNT-9-DI-T on HELIX 9 SONAR GPS
« on: May 07, 2024, 07:45:24 AM »
XNT-9-DI-T currently installed on boat.
Would connecting my Helix 9x Sonar GPS (2D-only model) to this fry the head unit or would simply use the 2d portion of the transducer?
Humminbird compatibility chart says not compatible.
Looking at the pinout diagrams, it shows the DI pin separate, other pins same as 2D.

Just trying to avoid a transducer swap if possible.

The 2d piezo in the XNT 9 DI T is tuned for 200kHz/455kHz  ...

The HELIX 9 Sonar unit transmits 200kHz/83kHz for 2d  ...

Setting the Beam Frequency under the Sonar tab to 200kHz only will allow use of the XNT 9 DI T but I’ve never tried it to see what the results would be  ...

It shouldn’t damage anything  ...

Most informative, thank you.
I will go through the transducer swap, do not want to risk my Helix for this.
