Topic: Getting a Helix 5 to recognize the SD card

I searched quite a while to find out the simple answer to getting a Helix 5 to recognize the sd card is simply inserting the card AFTER the unit is powered up.  That seems strange to me but it seems to work.  It would be nice if that one sentence was included in the Humminbird manual.  Maybe I'm too old school and am a little behind the times with hot-swap capable equipment.  Just seems counter intuitive to plug in the card after power up instead of before. 

Maybe I simply overlooked that particular instruction.  But I sure had a hard time finding the information until I saw the post at the end of a string on this forum.  Thanks to who ever posted it.
