Is there a way to zoom down scan on an Onix to help old eyes?

Yes you can.  On my Onix10 CI I just move the curser to where I want to zoom on and use the + or - key.  Go to page 190 of the ONIX and ION Operations Guide. There are other options explained in the manual.  You can download the manual from the Humminbird support web site.
