So today I recorded about 7 hours of sonar and SI on a blank SD card in left slot of my 1199SI. Just before shutting down for the day (after Stop Recording) I was changing some settings on the unit and accidently hit the "Encrypt SD Card" menu item. Actually, it wasn't an accident, it was two fingers hit keys on the side at the same time and the next thing I see a message "SD Card encrypted". WTF? Before hitting some rocks I quickly looked for the menu item that caused this and if I could "undo" it, but couldn't find anything. But I see here on the forums that there is supposedly a menu item on the 1199SI to encrypt the SD card in the latest v7.650 software. So I assume that's what I hit by accident.
First things first...
HUMMINBIRD - WHERE IS YOUR UP-TO-DATE DOCUMENTATION WHEN YOU RELEASE NEW SOFTWARE?! WHERE ARE YOUR DETAILED, THOROUGH INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL OF THESE NEW OPTIONS?! WHERE IS YOUR 24/7 (OR AT LEAST 18/6) PHONE SUPPORT LIKE OTHER TECH. COMPANIES. I'm getting so fed up with the level of technical un-sophistication from these guys. I don't know, but does the fishing world just live with this level of crap support? Everyone raves about how great a company this is ... that's scary if you ask me. There's no way we should be guessing and posting half answers amongst all of us trying to figure this stuff out. Especially considering the price of this stuff.
Now, with that off my chest...
So I want to run this recording through AutoChart. But now the file on the SD card is now encrypted. How do I decrypt it? Can I decrypt it? I doubt I can run it through Autochart as is.
