788ci DI HD issues
« on: July 07, 2012, 11:16:22 PM »
I just updated my 788 DI HD unit to the new software and it will lock up on me now. None of the buttons work when it does this so I have to cut the power off to the unit then turn it back on. Also it won't read my map card in either slot. My 898 will read the card fine so I know the card is good.. Any ideas guys?

Have you tried reloading the previous update?  Clear all updates from the SD card, reload the previous update on the card and then try to reinstall this version.

See if this works.

Load the update as a single file on the sd card. When the update is successful then transfer any waypoints as a separate step..

If loading an older version of software does not help, then you will need to call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and see about getting your unit in to be fixed.  We are over in Eufaula, so you may want to drive on over and get it worked on and do some fishing while you are over here…
