Humminbird 788ci HD DI

New kid on the block.   Considering purchase of Humminbird 788ci HD DI.  Wondering if anyone has any comments???

It would be difficult to comment without knowing the type of fishing you do.  The thing that stands out the most is, I don't think that unit has side imaging.  Side imaging certainly insn't mandatory when fishing, but it sure does making finding structure alot easier.

New kid also....after research and questioning RGecy to death, whom was very helpful, I ordered the 988ci HD DI myself. It should be here Wednesday. The ability to update the program software was the sealer for me.

Most units on the market, including Lowrance units have free software updates.
This has been going on for a few years.

It came down to the 597ci HD DI and the 788ci HD DI, that is how I made the final decision.

Robert keeps a download section here on this forum for updates.
He has considered downlevel also in case of problems when upgrading code..
check the download tab at the top of the main menu..
