recordings
« on: June 22, 2010, 03:07:34 AM »
When i make recordings the images has a lot of interference in the water colum on the right , the left has some up high but i can live with that,a snap shot of the same sounding looks ok and the screen looks fine, in shallow water it is worce witch is most of my soundings but in 100ft of water it is not there , the screen seems to be brighter on the right sometimes . my transducer is on the right and lifting the motor makes no differance .it is on a 14ft tinny . i have tryed lowering the transducer to 2" below the bottom of the hull but no differance. any idearsila_renderedila_rendered

Actually they dont look all that bad.  You might want to play with settings a bit.  go thru your menus and tweek them a bit.
Make sure the transducer is level with the water top and not tilted.

Johno,

The first image has almost a ghost image effect in the water column which is very unusual.  This was showing in the software, but did it do the same thing on your unit?  Lets eleminate any issues by not including HumViewer.  It may have some issues with the recordings but they display normal on your unit.

The other images you posted do not show this effect.  If you have some snapshots that show the same thing, please post them.

Have you tried your head unit on someone else boat to see if it happens the same?  If it does we know it is your unit and then we can try a couple different things.

Check all connections and make sure they are tight.  Please describe your setup in detail so we know what components you have and whats connected to what.

You could try backdating the software on your unit the previous version and see if you have the same issues.

johno,

Can you post some pictures of your transducer installation?  Straight on and also from the side, close up and overall view. Make sure we can see across the transom and trim down your motor into normal position if possible.

Something that makes me wonder is the strong sonar return just to the left of the center line.
