Good morning my friends,
User of a side imagine and 200khz depth echosounder, i have design a project for the mapping of rocky, sandy and seagrass bottom in a marine area in Greece (Natura 2000 area- South Crete / Chania).
Till now, i have unanswered questions on the following issues.
1) What is the side scan bottom coverage in 5/10/15/50 meters depth? Crucial information to scedule the expedition in the sea. No answer yet from anywhere.
2) Till what depth these units give meaningfull information ? Also crucial for the project (no answer around - companies say that we give you data till 100 meters depth but when i collect data from such depths i collect juts noise).
3) How can i move theside imagine (build a towed fish) unit far from the engine in order to avoid the noise in the data ? What type of cable i have to find and extend it ?
4) "Best" settings / tunes in Dr. Depth for seawater applications? As till now, what i find is solely for freshwater / shallow deoths from US.
5) Bottom hardness values - scale from 0 to 100. means that the greater the value the harder the bottom is or the opposite ?
I know, lots of questions, but i cannot find clear answers at all !!!
Thanks for the time
Dimitris
