Ok so I have a 798 non HD. have been recording and trying to upload to card that is" local"
I made a copy of the original card and have it saved in a separate file.
I changed the name of the LKmaster and AC file on the card per the instructions.
I made an Autochart folder and put a copy of the LKmaster file in that folder. changed the mapping lakemaster setting to use this file to update as the "local card"- that didn't work. So in the Autochart folder with the Lkmaster file I made an "AC" folder. Now when I "update card" there is a LKmaster folder in the AC folder. So when I open the Autochart folder I see the AC and LKmaster. when I open the AC there is another LKmaster folder.- sound correct?
when I started, the 798 with the original unaltered card, the monitor would show lake names and boundaries from the card- selected it from the card slot.
Now I take the LKmaster file from the AC folder which is approximately 2.5GB and copy that to the card. I checked and it is a different size each time I update map with more mapping.
When I put it in my units I get a gray background and all the lake boundaries are gone, no contour lines. I checked setting and lines are supposed to be visible. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
I have tried taking the AC/Lkmaster and copying into the Lkmaster, then copy that to the card with no change.
I tried taking the autochart/Lkmaster and copy that into the empty AC folder and updating the card with mapping and the program locks up.
I have tried these with copies of the original card files. Makes sense to me that if the zero lines are in the original Lkmaster folder and you make another AC/lkmaster folder the 2 should be together. worked on this all weekend to no avail. I do have copies of the original that I start with each time. any help appreciated.
