Topic: Tow fish cable

I'm planning to build a tow fish unit to get the transducer down deeper for use in salt water. Is there a readily available cable (in Australia) that can be used to extend the transducer? Also, is there an ideal length of cable, and are there photo's of other peoples' projects?
