Topic: problem latest version of HBPC

Hi,
since a view hours i´m trying to install the newest version of the HB-PC Software, but it didnt run.
Im using a Win XP PC with latest Java update installed. The older Version 3.x of the Software ist working
correctly, but im not able to start the new one after installing it.
I also tryed the WIN95 compability modus.
Maybe somebody could help me!
The error pop up always says: HBPC.exe located a problem and needs to be closed.

Prior to downloading this software, please make sure of the following: 1. You need to be running Java version 6 update 26 at a minimum. 2. You should have all of the latest Windows Updates completed. 3. Download this program to your PC. Run the program and follow the installation instructions. NOTE: When using a unlocked SD card that has never had Humminbird waypoints stored on it, you should first follow the instructions on the following FAQ to avoid an error message that reads Data Error Null. http://www.humminbird.com/FAQ.aspx?ContentId=3148 CAUTION! We highly recommend that you restore the defaults on your Humminbird unit prior to downloading any new software as it can create complications that can only be fixed at the factory.

Hi,
thankx for your reply, but the problem is that i followd point 1 to 3 and still have the
problem, that i´m not able to run the program. 
I have Win XP and also tryed the compability modus, but that doesnt work neither.
Version 3.x is running correctly, but i´m not able to download the tracks from my
728 unit.
Livetracking with Dr. Depth is possibly, but not downloading tracks or updating
the software on the unit.

Well I found out what the problem was with mine so I will post up in case it helps anybody out.  I'm running xp pro and humminbird pc 4.3.3 and had a conflict with zone alarms free firewall.  Disabling did nothing.  Only after uninstalling the firewall could I get 4.3.3 to go.  I ended up reinstalling an older version of zone alarms and everthing is a go.
