Helix Series Units / Helix 7 won't turn on (possible solution)
« Last post by Kenai on Yesterday at 02:55:44 PM »I have Helix 7 G3N without a cover. The cover was not included in box and I couldn't buy one locally. After 6 months of winter, I discovered my 14 month old Helix would not power on, no matter how many times I tried. I checked all the cords, battery — everything seemed fine. 13V measured on connector pins. Tried to switch cords with my Helix 9 to no efekt.
It worked perfectly on last trip 6 months ago.
Yesterday I took it from the shelf in shop and placed it face up on my office desk in house to access the serial number and write a warranty claim and let it there for 24 hours.
However, after 24 hours I try to start it one last time before sending it back and it started instantly. I believe the cause was that I left it face down on soft foam for six months without a cover. That likely kept the power switch pressed and caused it to get stuck. The unit refused to start while the switch was stuck in pressed position. So don’t store your unit face down, even on a soft surface without rubber cover.
