https://github.com/Kenaiwolf/DIY-Humminbird-Heading-GPS-SensorWell, everything I learned about the AS GPS HS and its NMEA 0183 sentences is in that Git project. It has everything you need to build your own GPS receiver and magnetometer with an Arduino and a little coding. Consider this my way of repaying the help I’ve received here and from the open-source community, as well as the help and support I haven’t received from Humminbird over the years.
A full step-by-step guide will follow for non-programmers and fishermen with minimal DIY experience, but for now I don’t have a fully refined product. It is still a work in progress.
So if you want to jump the line or speed things up, send me an email. Any support is welcome.
