Transducer protector sources..
« on: January 12, 2013, 10:17:25 AM »
I have a 858DI transom transducer that per HB i have to use a trolling motor adapter kit since they don't have a true trolling motor transducer (puck) type.  I want to make sure that I protect my trolling motor transducer,,,so I would like a list of suppliers that sell a protector for the 858DI transducer.

Thanks for the help...love this forum

Transducer Shield and Saver is what I use and the best I have been able to find.

Jgcox6,
The Humminbird web site shows both the XTM-9-DI-25-T and the XTM-9-WIDE-DI-20-T transducers.  These are built with the same trolling motor transducer housing that we have been using for other types of trolling motor transducers.

I don’t know if that shield will help protect the DI transducer or not Chuck.  I can’t remember seeing how it fits on the transducer.  The shields for the Si transducers cover some of the front of the transducer and would keep it from being damaged (or being damaged as badly) from a frontal impact.  I can’t tell if this one will wrap around enough to do that, but if he calls; Scap or Shirley should be able to tell him.

I thought there was several types of shields based on the transducer.  And by manufacturer.......I will have to go back to their site and see..
