I just picked up a used 998 and have a question on the GPS module...can I connect it directly into the back of the graph or do I need to hook it into the NEMA cable...does the antenna take its power directly from the graph or do I need a seperate 12v source...seperate from the power source for the graph head.

Thanks for the replies, I have taken a long break due to other work, but I have some time again and looking to get the realtime streams working on my helix.

@themothaship how did you figure out what TCP message to send in the payload? I have tried setting up a multicast subscription based on the information in the SRVLOC packets but it does not seem to be broadcasting anything, or my payload is not right.

Any suggestions on the best way to find the correct payload to send to set it up? I was thinking of getting a second helix to try and network them together and sniff the packets being sent between.

Should I be sending service requests or attribute request?

Thanks for anyone who can help clarify any of these questions for me!

@oschi Yeah log detection would work well, and we are looking to allow anyone to use our ATR systems we released. I'll look into the log detection application and would be great to chat about it.

I have a Helix 9 I bought in April 2024 from BassPro Shops in Hookset NH for a specific missing persons case I was working. Used just twice.

I am not in L/E but do this work part-time as a volunteer. The search was very important and I adpated the hardware to a canoe which allowed me to get into very difficult water bodies to run my scans which I completed that I could not get my usual boat into. I don't need this unit anymore as I already have a Humminbird 1197 that to this day still serves me well, and a towed commercial system from EdgeTech on Cape Cod. I am in Exeter NH not far from Boston.

Lakemaster AutoChart / not more than 3 raster image maps on Solix 12

I use a Helx 7 and a Helix 10 on my boat.
My friend uses a Solix 12 Chirp Mega SI+ G3.
We have created some maps of our local lakes that we fish.
I can create a lot of raster image maps with AutoChart for my Helix 7 and Helix 10 and can also select them from the menu on the sonar.

My friend can also create more than 3 maps (raster images) with AutoChart.
He has named the raster image maps “image (1)”, “image (2)” and “image (3)”.
But, if he creates a fourth raster image map named “Image (4)”, the map is not selectable from the sonar menu.

Is there an option or configuration switch to expand the maximum number of raster image maps to more than three on the Solix?
