What software do I need to create my maps?
« on: February 12, 2024, 04:06:08 AM »
Hi there. new user here sorry if this is a repeat.

I just got my Helix 5 CHIRP/GPS G3, downloaded its base map to an SD and it's working well.
However, living in Turkey, the base map leaves a lot to be desired naturally.

I tried creating my own maps with SAS and Insight Map Creator, however the unit ignored all the .at5 's I created. It must need another format I suspect, or even a particular layout on the SD. Does anyone have any information on this?  How can I save it with Insight or any other software and have the device accept these maps?
Any other software recommendation, including paid ones, is welcome!

Many thanks, -turgut
