Topic: Will a 798 NON HD work with Minn Kota I-Pilot Link?

I'm thinking about buying a used Terrova with I-pilot link, but on the Humminbird site it says only the 798 HD is compatible. My unit is the NON HD model. Now is my unit absolutely incompatible or can it work with some sort of software upgrade etc?

Your non-HD 798 unit is absolutely incompatible with the i-Pilot Link trolling motors.  Software won't help because the unit has to have an Ethernet connection between the unit and the i-Pilot Link so that they can communicate.  That Ethernet connection has to have internal circuitry to work and the older non-HD 798 units did not have this.
