1197 problem

Hello, it seems the back light has gone out on my unit, can anyone help?

You will have to send it into the Humminbird Service Center and will have to pay the service charge for an 1197 or you may want to put that money towards a new unit.

Forgive me but I have to ask ... Did you check the backlight setting ...??

(Press the Power button one quick time to open some Xpress menu choices) ...

Yes,I ran the settings up and down on the on the backlight with no luck.

Greg, I just want to say thanks to you for helping me on the problem with my unit loosing power due to the pins in the back. I have spent my limit for this spring, so I will have to try and repair the unit. By the way I will say that Johnson products are all I use because of your outstanding service and commitment to the costumer after the sale. Where do I get the cost and shipping directions?

Are there any upgrades that we can do on the unit while it is in the shop?

I know of no upgrades for the 1197 units other than software.
