Which unit do you have.  US or International?

If you have an International version unit (these units have “X” in the model number) than you should be able to go to the Setup menus and select the appropriate metric settings in the Units – Depth, Units – Temp, Units – Distance and Units – Speed menus.  If you do not have an International version unit you will not have these menu selections and they cannot be added.

I have the 798 non international model, the other i turned it on and it just kept saying loading so i pushed buttons and got the boot screen up anyway took it home connected to PC and uploaded firmware when i put it back in the boat and was resetting all my preferences i now have the metric option. I selected it and every thing works in metric any ideas.

Hi Aussie

Welcome to the forum :)

You can change the units of measurement  in the setup.

Sounds like the unit lost its identity and defaulted to a metric (International) configuration.  I would sure keep an eye on it as it may have further problems.
