Title: SI and Bottom Sonar Depth blank at 80 ft.
Post by: flabob on February 16, 2017, 02:49:13 PM
My helix 7 SI works ok at 40 Ft. of water . But when I went out to 80 ft. it was blank . The SI and Bottom scan both were blank. When moving below 5 MPH and also anchored. I just checked the depth on advance settings and it was on Auto. I increased it to 200 ft. and will check it on my next trip.
But would like to see if it works  now .
Is they anyway to check it to see if it will work at a deeper depth with out making a trip?

The SI Range setting vs water depth will determine how much bottom detail is displayed in the SI view ...

If the water depth is 80ft and the SI Range setting is 80ft (or less) - only water column will be displayed in the SI image ...

For the 2d view - if the Lower Range setting (under the Xpress "Menu") is left in Auto = the unit tries to keep the bottom detail about midway vertically on the screen ..

If the Lower Range setting is set to a manual value - and the water depth is greater than that value = only water column will be displayed in the 2d view ...

There will be a "M" (for Manual) at the lower right of the 2d view if the Lower Range setting is not in Auto ...
