Title: Running a Helix 5 only as plotter

Hello, i was wondering if i can run my Helix 5 SI GPS only as a plotter without a transducer attatched? Or will it just enter demo-mode?

I have a better unit for both sonar and SI/DI but no plotter.

I have very litte experience with this kind of things.

Any help much appreciated.

*Power on the unit ... (with or without the xducer attached) ...
*Press "Menu" when the HB logo appears ...
*Choose "Normal" from the popup ...
*Right cursor to activate Normal operation ...
*When the unit has fully booted up - press the power button briefly ...
*Choose "Sonar Off" from the popup window ...

This shuts off the transmitters and allows the unit to be used as a chartplotter only ...

I'm not sure if your model unit will remember this setting change upon a power cycle and reboot ... so test the procedure above after power cycling the unit ...
