Title: Export mapping info to Google Earth?
Post by: Conrad_Turbo on May 30, 2016, 06:21:05 PM
Is there an easy to export what has been mapped to Google Earth?  And then have it accessed by a phone?  Reason being is that I have a 798 in my boat and most of the time we transfer it over to my brother-in-law's boat when we're fishing in his boat.  However sometimes we don't...and I'd like to be able to view our mapped info on Google Earth.  I have done this by saving a screen shot with two marked known GPS locations.  Then importing the .jpeg in, scaling the photo and locating the two reference points...so I can view it on my phone, but it's not a simple process, especially if you have multiple areas that are mapped or slowly being updated.

Autochart and Sonar Trx both have the ability to export to google earth .... It is a very complex subject.

I would recommend the Lake Images Autochart training and also.
You could email support at Sonar Trx to see what their capabilities are.......They have some tutorials on their web page also.

If you purchase Autochart pro you can export directly to Google Earth or create a georeferenced map for devices too.

I don't want to use any other software right now, Autochart seems to be cooperating quite well with my fish finder.  I know how to use the majority of the software, just need to enable this feature and don't feel like paying $15 to possibly find out.  I'm sure someone else has had this issue.

However that does look like a pretty good deal for a crash course on everything!

I have Autochart Pro, I can create the map within Autochart and then click on "Launch Google Earth".  It finds the location where the mapped data is created with two pins one in the top left extremity and one in the bottom right.  And that's it.  Is there an export function that can be done within Autochart and then it can be imported into Google Earth?  I assume that is the process that needs to be done?
