Title: 899CI HD SI COMBO
Post by: Skeeter07 on April 19, 2016, 11:37:39 AM
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong with my 899ci HD on the bow. Here is a screen shot showing what I'm seeing on side image. It's blown out and white no matter what settings I do. The DI and reg sonar look fine. This is the second transducer that the unit has had on it and still doing it. Had the compact transducer on first and then switched to HD transducer. Any advice or what else to try?  It's on a Minn Kota Edge 70.  Chart speed 1 and 455 Khz.  It has been doing it with both transducers.

Thanks,

Looks like it is probably a hard bottom area with scattered grass ..... try to turn the sensitivity down some more.

Deeper water and/or softer bottoms absorb the sound pulse ...returning less sound pulse strength ...
Shallower water and/or harder bottoms reflect the sound pulse better ...

You have already learned the benefit of the SI Enhance overlay "Menu" ...

Adjust the Sensitivity frequently ... Dependent on how dark or light the SI image becomes ...

Looks fine to me....try a different lake with different contours and depths.
