Title: Did I mess up?

I updated the software on my 788c, I thought I had gone back to factory defaults but I had not.  When the software came up to install it had the option to abandon the upgrade, the default was yes.  I went ahead and updated anyway.  Is there a way to see if the unit is messed up?  It does come up, I can see my map chip but the sonar reading looks a little funky.  The boat is in the garage without the ability to actually put the transducer in water.  I was just wondering if there is some sign or something I can look for to see if I messed up.  Thanks.

Put your transducer in a bucket of water.  It may clear the screen a bit but again there is no detail to see.

In addition to what Chuck mentions ...

Start the unit in Simulator and Restore Defaults ...then set your favorite settings and test the unit in Simulator ...

I think you'll be fine ...
