Called bass pro today to see what they had to go touch. He told me they were phasing out onix in favor of helix. Is onix going away?

It is probably Bass Pro putting the best sellers(New release-lower price) Helix out front. Onix is more high end type stuff. Bob

It's all about price....and Onix doesn't have it.

It is all about inventory turns. Floor space is at a premium in stores. They will display what turns over the most. The best solution is to ask about an Onix everytime you go in the store. Tell them that you will have to go to a store where you can get hands on before you will buy.

Correct but inventory turns are directly dependent on price...I would guess if a guy wanted to buy an Onix model , he will buy it online and never set foot in a store. Bass Pro people don't have the sales ability and sonar knowledge to take a guy and push him from less than $2000 unit and put him into an over $3000 unit. That is especially true with a Helix 12 and any Onix model.
