Title: just got the 797csi

Hi all just got my 797 and i just updated the new software, looks awsome can't wait to get it on the boat, has anyone got any new pics of it working in the uk waters, and also my model has the built in gps antenna, do you think i need the external antenna, as it will be going inside a centre consol in a meter box.

As long as there is no metal between the top of the unit and the satellites it should not be a problem with installing the meter box, although I’m not sure what a meter box is.  Would this be like an equipment box?

If you do go with the external GPS Receiver just make sure that you buy the GR16 as the 797 does not source enough current to run the newer GR50 GPS Receiver.

hi greg, thanks for the reply.The meter box is made of plastic so hopefully should be ok
