Title: HUMMINBIRD 958C DI won't update

AFter trying a number of times, my 958C DI will not update to the latest version of software(7.66). I have been updating my unit since purchase without any issues. Have tried different sd cards. Still no luck. Everythiong else seems to work fine except for certain route issues that were supposed to be corrected by update 7.66. Any ideas out there? :(

Is it possible you have more than 1 unit registered with HB and the update .bin downloaded from your HB account was for a different model unit ... ??

Thanks Rickie, but this is not the case. I have been a Humminbird user for 30 years and have liked all my units. I am also , fortunately, quite "tech savvy", so I am really stumped by this issue. I really don't want to send my unit in, since it still works well, for the most part, without this update. I will wait for the next update and see if that one works. If the file size on your SD card looks correct .... I would give Humminbird a call or email to see if there are any known issues with this update.

I have heard of some instances where certain browsers cause troubles with downloaded updates ...

Can you try the update download from the HB website with a different browser ... ??

And of course Bob's suggestion of calling HB is always a good back up plan ...

If the SD Card(s) you tried are not under 32GB and are of the SDXC type, they will not work.
They must be SD or SDHC to perform an update...

We har a similar experience This spring, ibdont remember witch browser Who caused The problem but try opera, ie and chrome. One of then should do The trick while The two others mat cause problems. Always fromat Your sd Card and download the Update file to The computer before transfering The file from there to the sd Card.
