Title: Paint on transducer Thru Hull / fixed mounted ?

Is it a problem to use bottom paint on a thru hull SI Transducer ?

it is not recommended to paint the transducer.

It’s not recommended to use paint on the plastic transducers.  If you still want to please follow these two rules: don’t use anything that has metal in it, and don’t paint it in a manner that will leave air bubbles in the paint.  Both of these will block some of the sonar signal and lead to weak or no readings.

Oh, just thought of a third: don’t use anything that will attack the plastic.
