Ok guys while playing around with my unit at HOME(mind you i am at home and not in the boat) --i decided to place my 2010 south platinum card in the unit to see some lakes.
I dont see anything? normal mode or sim mode--nothing--i do see the navionics icon menu though with the settings for the card like chart overlay, platinum 3d, and 3d overlay but no maps.
Do i have to be outside actually hooked up to the boat with GPS to be able to use the Navionics card?
Silly question but I can't seem to find an answer on the web?
thanks for any help here guys

I live in Southern CA and have the 2010 S Platinum Card for Oklahoma and Texas.
First off you need a Gps hooked up and has to have located your current location otherwise you cannot get the map on your screen (at least that is what I found) and it must be in the advanced mode.
Go to the Chart drop down menu, then Chart Select, choice between Auto / NVB / Left (or Right) Chart Card. I have my card in the left slot so I choose the Left Chart Card.
To look at various lake maps I use the (-) key until the area you want to see is viewed. Then you scroll the cursor to the lake you want to look at and zoom in. It is a little bit of a pain but it works.
If someone knows how to load specific lakes please advise, there must be an easier way. Most of the time I use NavPlanner to look at the various lakes, this is a lot easier.
One of the problems with Navionics is they do not supply any documentation on how to use their card.

well i finally got it to work. and it does work in sim mode at home. What a pain for getting around==always having to zoom in and out just to see where you are on the map. --they should have a menu with all the lakes built in and be able to choose a lake to go to.
But i got it working
oh and BTW--do you leave the Chart Detail level=underwater---that way you can see in 3-d?

Glad you got it working, I will have to try it.
If you use NavPlanner the lakes can be pulled up by the ports. It is easier to navigate around on.
