Are the core models being discontinued? Are all models being changed to the Helix platform?
I want to know if these are going to be supported with upgrades....should I wait until spring and get the new one?
-
We can only assume at this time that the current core line will be discontinued ...the 2 year cycle is up for unit manufacturing change ...
The core units will be serviced (including software upgrades) for some time ...
HB has always been allowing upgrades to older units as long as the new added features are within the capabilities of the processor ...
My 2009 model 1197 was included all the way up to 6.640 (which was not that long ago) ...
Servicing of units will go way beyond available software upgrades ...

You'll know soon enough about what is continued, discontinued, and what is brand new.
Humminbird's new product year starts with the Fiscal year (October 1).
Check their Website at that time.

Good info ITG. 8)
Yeah, they're discontinued - and I still don't mind not having the newest on the block...

Im good with the 1199ci SI Combo I got....

That leaves only the Onix and Ion units that will interface with a Link equipped Trolling Motor. That sux as those are expensive units! :(

Although specs are not released yet ... We have every indication that the Helix 9, 10, and 12 will be networkable ...
