Title: mapping outside of parameters
Post by: d.sonnenburg on July 28, 2015, 02:52:13 PM
I recently mapped a lake and uploaded the data to the computer. I created an outline of the lake as a kml. file in google earth. now when it makes a map it goes beyond my outline and maps land area thus wrecking my map. all of my sonar recording are within the outline that i made so i have no idea why it is showing data outside of this area. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

d go to
tools..setting...general ..
look at shorelines
and make sure you have selected your shorelines  and that it isn't using the default shoreline as it is often off by quite a bit
for your own impoerted kml file
try
use shorelines
user defined data
see if that helps

After you imported the Google Earth .kml file, did you remember to open the autochart file for your shoreline, and change the data type to shoreline?
