Title: Screen Protectors on New Units?

I thought that I had read that the screens had a plastic layer of film to protect during shipment.

Can someone verify?  The screen seems dark, but I can't locate an edge of film on this screen.  Don't want to press and pry too much if its not there

during mfg, there is a blue protective soft cover  but I seem to recall that is removed during shipping/packaging. It is too dark for daily use.   chuck....
