mounted the transducer on a board to test a location before I mounted it permanently. Worked great even at speed (with some noise). Did notice that in SI mode the left side looked like an image on the moon in full sun (bright) while the right side was darker and had better detail.
Does this sound like a mounting issue, transducer issue or head issue?
TIA

I would eliminate any mounting issues first.
For SI, the transducer needs a clear line of site to both sites.
Could your main motor be blocking all or part of the signal going to the left?
Also, if your hull has rivets, the water coming off rivets could be aerated.
Could that be happening to the left side of the transducer?

Determine if the image on the left is still blocked when just drifting ..... If it is, trim the motor up and see if it goes away.

Will be a few weeks before I can take her out again but will give ideas a try. I did have the motor trimmed and visually the transducer looked clear. Had it mounted below everything at the high speed waterline. It's a Triton sf21.

Same thing with me. Did a reset and improved.

Maybe you already know but make sure you mount transducer on correct side in regards to prop rotation. Mounted mine where old transducer had been, did not work.
