All I can say about MK Ulterra is WOW!  The "Deploy and Stow" functions worked flawless.  Fished in 3-10 mph winds the last 2 days. I trolled down a rock jetty until my fishing partners caught a fish and then I would Spot Lock for a few minutes. Then resume again. I Spot Locked once when 2 people caught a fish. We all started getting bites and catching fish and I actually forgot about trolling motor for about an hour. I couldn't promise that it held location within 5ft (but close to it) but it definitely was unbelievable considering the wind. Maybe at most the drift would be 10ft.

I am thinking on fabricating something to stabilize the shaft when motoring. I do not like that long shaft flopping when going across rough water. Any ideas?

Another Minnkota product that I bought was the 12ft TALON. It is super quiet & quick and held like a charm 10+ ft deep in 10mph wind with constant waves rocking boat. On my sonar, I saw many what appeared as a gouges where an anchor had dug in and then pulled out and drug across bottom, then there would be another spot 3-4ft from that where they tried again.

The only thing I regret: is not getting 2 of them for the back of my boat.

I installed the ram mount with my Terrova and it works great.  It totally prevents head bounce and the possibility of damaging the control head and it also prevents the dreaded 'auto deploy' of the TM while under way. Highly recommended.

The clamp is needed to hold the ball securely to the shaft.  To release the ball/shaft all you need to do is turn the handle a couple of times and it will release the ball.  The arm stays attached to the mount on the deck when the motor is free.  It works very well and isn't much trouble to do.

I gonna order one and try it out. But the head on the Ulterra gets real close to top motor sometimes. But it will probably still work. Thanks

Still looking and thinking. I did run across this at TH Marine on the internet. It looks pretty neat. Thought I would share.
