Anyone know what the current version is for a 958C?

just log in into your account at Humminbird's website. There you can see the lates software download and you're good to go.

Unfortunatley, its not my unit. It belongs to a friend of mine who is completely computer illiterate.  He doenst even own one!  Well, I guess actually he does... his 959.  I havent even gotten him to tell me what version is on it to begin with.   I was just wondering if anyone knew .

rollie, check with customer service Humminbird and see if the unit is registered.  If is not then register it.  You can check the current version by powering on and select the screen for displaying internal information.  I dont know this unit very well but there might be a master screen for internal information.  check to see if that has been hidden.

The registration system does not allow some of the new units to be registered. 

Apparently, it doesn't recognize the serial numbers.

this is not a Rollie problem.....  call customer service and if they cant help then ask for a supervisor.  if that does not work call mark Gibson at HB.   although our good rep Greg might be ble to help also.  Chuck

The current software version for the 958c is 4.830.
I had problems trying to register a 958c unit on my account to check this with so he may have the same problem with his or not.  If anyone does have a problem registering their unit on the Humminbird web site than they need to contact the Humminbird Customer resource folks at 1-800-633-1468.
