Title: 110v adapter
Post by: TxSpec on April 02, 2015, 04:54:31 PM
Years ago I had a Garmin unit that I could disconnect from the boat and plug-in inside. Why do they not offer anything like this now? It was nice sitting in my chair arranging icons, playing with the settings and renaming things. It was much easier and I learned the unit better. I can't stand standing outside my boat or in the storage unit trying to mess with my units. They both have internal antennas so the gps would actually work.

The cost factor in HB supplying their own 110v to 12v converter is enormous ...

And the fact that there are federal guideline certifications for this ...makes this infeasible for HB to offer it ...

You can still use it inside .... just get an extra power cable and something like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012BL8LG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012BL8LG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
