I am new to the hummingbird family and the learning curve is steep. I bought my boat with a 798si at the console and a 788di on the bow. They were interlinked together with the 798 using its own transducer and the 788 using the minn kota fortrex built in transducer. Everything worked perfect. I upgraded my units to a 1199hd si at the console and a 999 hd si on the bow. They are Ethernet connected to each other. I had planned to use all 4 units at a time but due to transducer interference I am not able to. Is there a better setup for what I have or is just leaving the 2 older units off the best way. Also my 2 new units are approximately a year old. Should there be any updates on the units and how difficult is it to do?
Thanks

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums TxSpec.
The 1199ci HD Si and 999ci HD Si units sound good to me. What would you be using the 798 and 788 units for if you could run them all at the same time without interference?
What is the exact model of both your 798 and 788 units?
There have been software updates for both the 999 and 1199 units in the last year. You should register your units in your own My Humminbird account on the Humminbird.com web site. It will have instructions on how to do this.

There are enhancements in the latest software release for the 99 series that would be good to have.
You could always use the smaller units for dedicated mapping and do the sonar on the 1199 and 999.
