Title: HELP please...999SI and NMEA2k
Post by: battleborn on March 24, 2015, 10:23:08 PM
Good day,
I have a 999si with the software 7.46 and the NMEA2k ethernet connecter.  I have installed a Raymarine evo100 autopilot and have been having problems with communication.  I had a Raymarine tech come out and inspect the system.  The different units are detecting each other.  There is NO data being transmitted from the 999 to the network.  The tech plugged a computer in and no depth, GPS, Waypoints nothing is being transmitted.  I saw some videos on different model HB where you go into advanced user settings and enable NMEA2 and set the NMEA output to ON.  The only NMEA on my display is for 0183.  What am I missing to make these units communicate. Thank you very much.  The tech did say HB has great tech support.  Thanks again all.  Cheers. BB

BB,
I believe that the NMEA2K accessory is a one-way communication device that allows NMEA 2000 data into the Humminbird Ethernet network but does not transmit any data out to the NMEA 2000 network.

I heard from my installer that the NMEA2000 black box traffic is bi-directional - check your facts to verify and then get back to us please

Greg's duties may have taken away his ability to help with this forum. We do have other guys stepping up so maybe they can answer this and we can close the topic. Chuck
