Can you connect Mercury smartcraft system to a 899 ci hd si unit

That depends on what input they need from the 899ci HD Si unit.  If these are the same SmartCraft gauges from several years back that required an NMEA 0183 signal with sentence prefixes that started with “GP” (instead of the “IN” prefix that our internal GPS model units output), than the answer is “No, not without connecting an external GPS Receiver to the 899ci HD Si unit first”.
