Title: Nitro 288 Sport HB 999 SI Transducer Help
Post by: Don T on February 17, 2015, 10:37:09 PM
Looking for some guidance on my Nitro 288 sport.
Just purchased a HB 999 SI unit.
Any suggestions on where to mount the SI transducer on the transom?
The bottom center of the transom has a recessed area for the livewell in/out ports.
Thinking of mounting the SI transducer on the step above the livewell port recess. Would mount it slightly off-center from the engine.
It would allow clean SI shot and clear the motor w/o a jackplate.
Bought a thru hull for high speed DI.
Thanks for input.
Don

I'm assuming you mean you bought a shoot thru hull for high speed 2d depth readings ...

Most fiberglass stepped transom installations mount the HDSI xducer above the step to protect the expensive HDSI from hitting something in the water ...And connect the shoot thru XP 9 20 with the AS SIDB Y cable ...

Here is some installation info ...
