Title: 798ci HD SI - white screen

GPS is working.  Screen for sonar is whilte blank. No images of any kind.  Turned unit on and off several times and removed it from mount and reinstalled a few times.  This did not help.  All I can see in sonar mode is a white screen.
What is the likely problem.   Any help will be appreciated.

Possibly bad transducer.  how old is the unit.  has the cable been cut or smashed. check connectors. Is the transducer cracked or broken.  Check power supply for  good charge...Can you swap any parts with any one else...

The 798 is almost 3 years old. The transducer about 6 months old.  I have a 688ci HD DI on bow, so moved the 798 up there and got the same results. Even though the transducer was different there might have been something to see. But, same white screen.

Are you testing with the boat in the water ...??

Are you getting the same white screen for SI, DI and 2d ...??

Yes to both questions.  Tomorrow I'm going to try my 798 on another boat that had a 798 and see what happens.

Its a long shot but try resetting the menus back to the factory defaults when you test it on the other boat.
