Title: Installing SI Transducer on Transom.
Post by: bucketmouth 87 on January 26, 2015, 02:42:02 PM
OK guys i have a 08 Trition Explorer and i want to install my 898 SI on the transom but i cant decide on a location on where to mount it.  Every where i look online seems to show a different location.  I attached a picture of my boat with 3 possible locations.  I have 2 different levels to my hull so im not sure if i install it up on the top or lower step.  Also i do not have a jackplate.  If anyone has any other options for me i would love to hear them. THanks

Here is Triton installation info ...

Most fiberglass installations usually opt to mount the HDSI xducer a little higher on the transom for protection ... And then use the AS SIDB Y cable with a "shoot thru" XP 9 20  epoxied in the bilge for high speed depth readings ...

Rickie,

So are you saying mount it to the right of the motor mount and have the middle of the transducer even with the bottom of that rib?

Thanks
