Title: 998si transducer placement on a 519
Post by: luke on January 16, 2015, 04:33:19 PM
My transducer is mounted on the offset drivers side on my
ranger 519. If I get above an idle the image goes away. I do use a jackplate. Where should I mount this so I can use my 998si properly

Here is some Ranger installation info ...

SI works best at idle speed ...

That's not saying it cannot be used at higher speed ... But getting the HDSI xducer in clean bubble free water at higher speed is difficult ...

Most bass boat installations usually opt to mount a XP 9 20  (2d only) in the bilge as a shoot thru and connect it to the head unit with the AS SIDB Y cable ...(along with the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T) ...

This allows high speed depth readings (from the XP 9 20) and allows mounting the more expensive XHS 9 HDSI 180 T higher on the transom for protection against damage from hitting something in the water ...
