I've read that it is important to return settings to default prior to updating software versions. Is there a way to save and export settings prior to returning them to default so they can be loaded after updating software versions?

There is currently no way to save favorite settings. Its been on the wish list for some time.

You could do screen captures, or simply write them down. It would be nice to just load them up. Maybe the new ones might allow for that. Bob

When I purchased an 899 unit earlier this year I created a summary of all the options available and provided a space to indicate my preferred settings. This allowed me to better understand all of the options working from the bench and a quick guide while on the water. It also let me quickly reset my unit when I updated the software. I tried to attach this guide for your viewing but it is in Excel format and the post would not allow it.

Bayou Basser, you can try converting it online to a pdf file. Do a search for them as there are several that are free or you may be able to print the Excel file or save it as a pdf file.

Thanks Greg, I'll try it.

Attached is the menu guide I developed for my 899. This has served me well in understanding what the unit is capable of, listing my preferred settings, and as a quick reference when on the water. I zipped it up to be able to post and it is in Excel format. There is no doubt that it can be improved by someone to be more efficient This is my first attempt to post an attachment so here goes nothing.

Thanks Greg for the comment. As I said it probably can be improved upon and I would like to see some feedback.
