Title: Interference question?
Post by: fishermanatr on October 09, 2014, 06:43:09 AM
I have an old LCR 4000 on my "catfish" boat.  I have used this unit for years, and understand what it shows me.  I wanted to leave this on my console and let it help me to understand how to adjust the sensitivity, etc., on my 898.

Does anyone know what frequency the 4000 runs on?  Should it interfere with the 898?

16degree  200hz

mmikos is right: the LCR 4000 used a 16 degree 200kHz transducer.  The 898c HD Si also uses the same 200kHz frequency so there will be the chance of sonar-to-sonar interference when both are used at the same time.

Thanks mmikos and Greg.  Will keep a watch out for  interference.

To follow up ---  I ran my transducer and Gps wiring through an isolated schedule 40 PVC pipe, from the transom all the way to the console.  I can see no interference at all, with both units operating.

I picked my power up from a fuse block at the console, on both units.
