Title: Problem with Onix 10

Posted this in the Onix section, 100 views and no reply.

Onix 10 combo.  Transducer mounted on transom of a Sportsman Masters 247.  The unit will lose touch with the bottom and start displaying weird depth reading in the 1000s of feet.  2000-4000 is the range.  Then the unit will crash.  Go right to a black screen and need to be restarted.

If the unit was displaying a shallow reading with lots of clutter I'd suspect bad mounting/water flow.  But it's the opposite.

Any ideas?

Not many users here have the ONIX series yet...

Greg is our info source for these new units...he will probably check in Monday ...

Yea you can also try BBCboards.net in the H-bird section. Doug V is a mod there.
