Title: Use the same SD Card for update ?
Post by: pimpelkungen on July 23, 2014, 08:14:58 AM
Hi!

Can I use the same SD card to update 2 units, one is a 899 hd si, and the other one is a 859 hd, of course with diffrent update file, but will the Unit reconise the correct update file ?

Yes you can use the same SD card to update multiple units (if you have the correct software update file on it).  Each unit model should only recognize its own software update file, but if you have more than one of the same model (Example: two 1198ci HD Si units), they both can be updated from that same update file using the same SD card.

What! So I could've just left the 1199 update & 360 update both on sd card instead of deleting the 1199 software then reloading the 360 software update.

In theory: yes, but I’m very cautious when loading updates and personally prefer only one update on the SD card at a time.

SD Cards are cheap...WAY cheaper than bricking a unit...

Why take the chance...??
