Hi all,
New to this awesome forum,
Few weeks ago I picked up a 998 c HD SI for the helm, I never had the best of luck with mounting transducer on the transom but with the great info on this site I nailed it the first time, no rooster tail and it reads at all speeds except for a few dots on the screen at high speeds which I can live with, thanks all for the info on mounting the SI transducer,
This week I picked up a 859ci HD XD for the bow, my question is if I link both units together besides sharing GPS info what else can be shared between both units,
Thanks in advance

Is the 859 down imaging also or just 2d? The 998 can read whatever your 859 is capable of, but the 859 can only read what it's capable of from the 998... If the 859 is DI then it can read that info from the 998 transducer. If it's just 2d then only that. Plus they should be able to share GPS, waypoints, transducer temps, and most accessories attached. Humminbird units do not share map cards.

Fabio,
Is that in fact the “XD” version 859 unit (859ci HD XD)?
Could you please pm me the serial number so I can verify that?
The reason I ask is that the “XD” version units are X-treme Depth units and they ship with a 50/200kHz transducer. Not something that you would normally mount on the bow of the boat.
When Ethernet connected and with updated software, the two units should be able to share all of the sonar from one unit to the other along with GPS Receivers, Temperature and Waypoints.

The 859ci HD XD is only 2D, it's this years model with the black cover instead of the previous years with the white cover...
