Title: 898 Screen getting duller

I only come to the forum when i have problem so it makes me kooky a grumpy git ! So sorry ! I love my HB I have a 5 series and 898, side imaging rocks !!

Ive had a couple of GPS antennas go pop on me but the customer service in the UK from SMG has been excellent so Im still a happy customer

Its becoming obvious that the screen brightness on my 898 Si is getting rapidly worse , is this a common fault ? The unit is now 3 years old .

 Yes I do know how to adjust the brightness . I wish it was that simple

Is there a solution to the problem , is it something that can be fixed and if so is it financially viable to do so ?

Oz,
Is this an 898cX Si model or the 898cX HD Si model?
Check the electrical power to the unit and all electrical connections.  No loose or corroded connections even on the fuse, fuse holder or battery.  Low power to the unit may cause this (depending on which model you have).
