Title: HumminbirdPC and Anti-Virus Programs
Post by: Bayou Basser on May 30, 2014, 09:11:28 AM
I hope no one gets upset with me for starting a new post but I thought it was important to put this out.

I recently asked for help because Bitdefender anti-virus was preventing HBPC from running.  Humminbird Support told me yesterday that Norton and Bitdefender anti-virus programs will do this.  I was using AVG with previous computer without any problems so I may go back to it.  If anyone knows of a better free version please let me know.  Also, some feed back on this subject may be helpful to many.

Thanks

Bayou:
I use Microsoft Security Essentials, which is a free product from Microsoft.
I don't use it in real-time, because my laptop isn't that powerful.
I'm extremely careful about which web-sites I visit, though.
I periodically use it to scan the computer.

Here a PC Magazine article I found about free anti-virus software.
